Have you noticed how a baby responds to their father?
Pure joy.
When lifted into the air… and instead of fear— there's only laughter. Trust. Delight.
No doubt that they will be caught.
No second-guessing the hands that hold them.
They follow without hesitation.
And then we look at our own hearts.
We delay.
We question.
We negotiate.
Even in the small things.
“See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” -- 1 John 3:1
Not trying to become child of God
Not earning your place.
You already belong.
A child of the Good Father doesn’t bargain.
A child trusts.
A child obeys.
Immediately.
Freely.
Joyfully.
What needs to change is part of you that
still holds back.
Still wants control.
Still waits to feel ready.
But love doesn’t hesitate.
Trust doesn’t delay.
So stop negotiating.
Obey immediately.
In the small things.
In the unseen things.
In the moments no one applauds.
Because discipline is trust in motion.
It’s choosing to respond like a child…
secure in the Father’s love.
So the next time you feel the pull to delay—
remember the who your Father is.
